Li Po Chun United World College of Hong Kong (LPCUWC) is committed to delivering a well-rounded and transformational education experience, established on a mission of promoting peace and a sustainable future. It thrives in a residential community where students from over 80 countries live and learn together, and grow to become culturally sensitive, inclusive, socially aware and openminded. Apart from a rigorous academic curriculum that empowers students to pursue their respective areas of interests, they develop a greater consciousness of themselves in relation to others through various Education Outside the Classroom (EOTC) activities where they sharpen their skills, further develop their talent and broaden their horizon of global issues and concerns.
This year, 128 students graduated from LPCUWC, obtaining an International Baccalaureate (IB) Diploma. From the official provisional results for the IB Diploma 2019, compared to the world average of less than 10% (in May 2018), 14% of our 2019 graduates received 40 or more Diploma points out of a maximum of 45 points. Two students achieved 44 points and four others achieved 43 points.
We congratulate each of our 128 graduates of Class 2019 for their performance in the IB exams and wish them every success. Their two years with us were alone an achievement, for they have created a special mark not only on the College but in the life of their peers, their teachers and the people they have met and become friends for life with. It has been an honour to witness them transform from students to young leaders who champion peace, sustainability and positive change in their respective communities and the world.
